Next Craft Fair is to be held again on the

third Saturday of October: October 16th, 2010!

________

For the seventh time, on October 17, 2009, we had over 22 crafters join us in providing wonderful, unique, and creative crafts for the public to enjoy -- and just in time for selecting unique Christmas presents. We include only hand-made or hand-painted items, so you won't see any mass-produced items that you can get just anywhere. Following are pictures from the 2009 Craft Fair.

Since the raffles have been such a success in 2009, and in the past, we plan to again hold two different raffles. In 2009 we had the 50/50 raffle, in which the winner gets half the cash and the Church gets the other half, and another raffle with two aspects. One aspect is a group of raffle items / crafts which our crafters have donated, and the other aspect is a group of gift baskets which our Church CWF put together from items donated by our area's businesses [listed page 5]. The best thing about this raffle is that you win only what you want because, after you purchase the tickets, you place each ticket only on the items you wish to compete for. [More about the raffles at the bottom of the last page, page 5.]

This year, due to the rain, the Massey House had to postpone, but, if it isn't raining next year, we expect the Thomas Massey House will again be celebrating their annual "Harvest Festival" at the same time as our Craft Fair. They will present many attractions and events, such as Colonial re-enactments (demonstrations) of blacksmithing, wood working, butter making, ink making, cooking, weaving, stenciling on cloth, colonial lighting, and apple-butter making along with story telling. They plan to be open for tours from 11a.m. through 4p.m. For more information about these things, go to their web site: marplehistoricalsociety.org/ and click on 1696ThomasMasseyHouse. They have had their Harvest Festival on the same day as our Craft Fair for two years now, with the combined effort bringing in over 500 people. In 2009, in spite of the heavy rain, most of our crafters said they had their best sales yet, were very pleased with the day, and plan to return next year.

"Anna’s Creations” by Anna Caruso (boxes, crochet, Christmas stockings, headbands, needlepoint, wreaths, decorations, etc.) Anna's Creations will be with us again in 2010.

There are always a lot of wonderful Baked goods, like brownies, cakes, cookies, and candy which came in many shapes like flowers, by Marple Christian crafters. The bake sale is a guaranteed part of each annual Craft Fair, and is very popular because of the delicious and unique offerings. click below for enlargement

Above are Becky Johnson and Barbara Ann Floyd, selling our unique baked items like Shooies (Shoe-fly-pie cakes), Raspberry chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, molasses cookies, Impossible Pie, Walnut Pie, "real fudge" brownies, etc. They were hard to resist ... and really good! Click on any picture to get either a different view or an enlarged picture for more detail.

Steve Wohlbach, our beloved Balloon Man, is a favorite with the kids (and with us kids-at-heart). He comes to join us every year, donating his time and his balloons, to make free balloon animals for kids. This not only adds to the fun of our Craft Fair, but it also advertises his services for kids' parties. He also does card-tricks and slight of hand-illusion tricks.

Miss Eckert, a daughter of one of our crafters, Kelli Eckert of Kelli's Creations, is showing us both the fabulous balloon bike, and also a green dragonfly on her face. A mischevious little balloon monkey racing up a palm tree is being shown off by Amber Hefferman, daughter of Teresa Hefferman of Hefferman's Little Craft Shop.

"Baskets By Ann ” by Ann McElhinney. Not only is Ann, shown with her grandson, Pratt, selling baskets, but also all-occasion cards, car comfort kits, and homemade jams, etc.
