Regional Christian Women's Fellowship / Disciples Women

Our "Region" includes all of Pennsylvania and parts of the state of New York. Our Regional "Cabinet" members meet to plan not only the annual CWF Retreat, which is in September each year, but also other annual events like the annual Cluster Meetings, and the CWF Luncheon and Meeting which occurs every two years at the Regional Assembly Meeting. For Cluster Meetings, the Region is divided into quarters. A church in each quarter is chosen as a meeting place for the women of the churches in that quarter to come together. The primary purpose is for the cabinet to introduce the studies and programs for the coming year, along with other upcoming events like the Quadrennial. It always involves a service project on the side, such as putting together baby layettes for Church World Service, and collecting paper products for the youth camps. At the Regional Assembly meeting, there is an installation service for the cabinet members for the next two years, as well as recognition for those who have completed their term. There is a great deal to plan for, like topics, speakers, meals and accommodations, program, worship, etc. but the meetings are both efficient and enjoyable. Most members of the cabinet usually agree to stay on for a second term of an additional two years, at the end of which time they must go off being on the cabinet or accept a nomination to another position in the cabinet.

Since this is the group that plans the annual CWF Retreat, we also have some pictures from past retreats. Click on the red letters, "CWF Retreat". We invite you to attend the Pennsylvania CWF Retreat in 2007, September 28-30. It will be held from Friday evening at 7(arrive after dinner), Sept. 28 through Sunday noon, Sept. 30, 2007. The 2007 Retreat theme will be “Bringing Our Stories to the Table” led by the Reverend Liz DeWeese. We will be exploring the concepts of talking the walk and walking the talk. It will be an uplifting time of hearing other women tell their faith journeys and, if we would like to, telling our own experiences of how Christ has utilized our lives and helped us grow stronger in faith.
